Antique 18th 19th C PA REDWARE Plate Slip Decorated Coggled Edge 12 1/4”

Welsh pottery slipware dishes, probably Buckley.

The mid-19th C Description: This is an antique redware deep dish or bowl most likely made in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. This brown colored glazed bowl or deep plate is nicely decorated with yellow slip lines, waves with a cursive design. The bowl has a round flat base with flared rounded sides ending at a Decorated Coggled Edge grooved/slotted edge. A great Pennsylvania Dutch pattern in a great piece that survived intact for over 200 years. The bowl shows several spots of loss of glaze and slip colors and has a large (~1" by ~1/2") chip at the rim. The back of the bowl is intact and has darkened from use. Other than that it is solid and beautiful and deserving of a spot in your collection. The piece has nice glazing and coloring.
