Victorian Age Bronze-Taming of Bucephalus-15

This is an impressive old Brass/Bronze statue depicting the Greek legend of "Alexander the Great taming Bucephalus". According to Greek history, Bucephalus was a fierce horse that was considered to be untameable, until a 13 yr old Alexander tamed it. It went on to become one of the most famous horses of classical antiquity.
After it died in battle, Alexander named a City after it called Alexandria Bucephalous which was referred to in Buddhist text of the early centuries AD. It no longer exists but is considered to be in the Peshawer region of Pakistan.

The statue is in very good condition overall, and has age appropriate verdigris/green patina in places. See pictures
There does not appear to be an artists signature or foundry mark.
